Leaders in Transportation | Transforming our Region – Public/Private Partnerships (PPP) in Action
Public/private partnerships (P3s) – “creative alliances” formed between a government entity and private company to achieve a common purpose – have become necessary in contemporary cities as the landscape of funding and ownership shifts, and as communities seek urban revitalization with increased community benefits such as transit-oriented development, infrastructure and placemaking.
In St. Louis, P3s are the cornerstones of transformative transportation initiatives – from our bike share program, to a new transit station, to the contemplated Chouteau’s Greenway.
On November 14, we will unpack the P3 model and share just what this innovative implementation tool means to St. Louis, discussing challenges, opportunities, and the future of the public/private partnership model going forward.
