For Mark Brandom, Managing Director for Commercial Real Estate at The Private Bank, his involvement with ULI St. Louis began in 2005. Since that time, Mark has grown steadily more involved with the organization, most recently serving as Chair of the Young Leaders Group (YLG). The YLG, a ULI committee comprised of members 35 years of age and younger, has given Mark the platform for encouraging others to get more involved in the growth and development of St. Louis.
This May, Mark attended the ULI Spring Meeting in Charlotte and was invited to participate – as the only Young Leader from St. Louis – in the national Council meetings. Through exchanging information and sharing best practices, Council meetings offer industry leaders vital opportunities to further ULI’s mission.
“I have always found my involvement in ULI St. Louis to be challenging and rewarding,” shared Mark. “Participating in the national Council meetings, however, broadened my understanding of and appreciation for the great work ULI does across the country. I would love to continue those discussions both in St. Louis with our local District Council and perhaps again at the Fall Meeting.”
As Mark prepares to pass the YLG Chair position on to Kelly Horn, his enthusiasm for ULI is stronger than ever. “Where else can you have such access to the bigger development discussion – the national outlook for development? Through ULI we are able to learn from what other cities have accomplished, apply best practices here and bring new business and new development to our own city.”
