UrbanPlan is a realistic, engaging, and academically challenging classroom-based, project-based program in which students learn the roles, issues, trade-offs, and economics involved in urban development. It provides high school students – our future voters, neighbors, community leaders, public officials, and land use professionals – with a hands-on experience in developing realistic land use solutions to vexing urban growth challenges.
Two high schools in the Ferguson-Florissant School District will be running Urban Plan in the Spring semester and we would love to have more volunteers in the classroom working with the students as they work on their development proposals.
For those interested in volunteering, please complete the UrbanPlan Volunteer Application and send a copy to [email protected].
Volunteers meet with student teams 1-2 times during the 2-week session, requiring 2-3 hours of volunteer time (including travel).
