A piece of history...
For those of you who haven't seen this, the Missouri Historical Society posted this video on "urban renewal" in 1960 St. Louis.
Michelle Rotherham and Ken Crabiel of CannonDesign spent time with ULI St. Louis last week unpacking their thoughts and the trends they’re seeing in the marketplace as it relates to the spaces in which we work today and might work into the future. While much of the business world has been thrown into tumult this year, those who were able to adapt early to the changes and insure that their workforce could continue successfully at home experienced less disruption and are more readily able to quickly improve processes to increase satisfaction and productivity. Michelle and Ken also stressed the importance of checking in with employees and teammates throughout the process to help insure that everyone was/is adapting and adjusting well or suggest help when/where needed.
The bottom line: the office environment has changed drastically in 2020 in the midst of a pandemic and accelerated the trend of hybrid teams working together both inside and outside the office. That trend is likely here to stay.
