    John Berglund

    The StarWood Group

    As co-founder and managing partner of The StarWood Group, John Berglund has led efforts to drive economic development just north of Downtown St Louis. He led the $75M redevelopment of the former Post Dispatch building into Block’s Midwest home, anchoring a new Financial and Geospatial Innovation District, 'Downtown North.’

    Hank Webber

    Washington University in St. Louis

    Henry (Hank) Webber is the founder and Managing Principal of Urban Impact Advisors (UIA) , a consulting firm working nationally focused on higher education, innovation district development and community and economic development. Projects including strategic planning for major research universities, advising on the growth of major academic programs, serving as a strategic advisor to Ancora Real Estate, a national innovation district developer, analyzing the impact of innovation districts on anchor institutions and partnering on a set of transformative urban real estate projects. Prior to founding UIA, Webber spent thirty five years helping lead the University of Chicago and Washington University in St Louis, two of America’s largest and finest research universities and making major contributions to Chicago and St Louis. From 2008 until the end of 2021, Webber served as Executive Vice Chancellor at Washington University in St. Louis. He was the University’s Chief Administrative Officer through 2020, overseeing a wide variety of administrative and external affairs functions including on and off campus University real estate and facilities, human resources, University operations, public affairs, information technology and security with combined operating and capital budgets of over $500M annually and over 1600 University and contracted staff. In 2020 he became Washington University’s Executive Vice Chancellor for Civic Affairs and Strategic Planning, and led a university-wide effort to strengthen the University as a teaching, research and patient care leader while making the St Louis region stronger and more equitable. Particularly notable was Webber’s leadership of the Cortex Innovation Community. Webber was the Vice Chair of Board of Directors of Cortex from 2010 until 2016 and Chair from 2017 to 2021. During his tenure, Cortex, a 200-acre urban technology redevelopment district in the core city of St Louis, grew from 1,000 jobs and under 100 companies to 6,200 jobs and over 425 companies. Before coming to Washington University in 2008, Webber spent 22 years at the University of Chicago. For the last eleven years he served as Vice President for Community and Government affairs and also led off-campus real estate. In addition to his administrative role, Webber has been on the faculty at Washington University and the University of Chicago since 1998, most recently serving as Professor of Practice. In 2018, Facing Segregation:Housing Policy Solutions for a Stronger Society, a book he co-edited with Molly Metzger, was published by Oxford University Press. His current project is a book on how post-industrial cities in United States can create and sustain inclusive growth Mr. Webber is Chair of the Board of Directors of Invest STL, the St. Louis region’s community development effort and serves on the Boards of Directors of St Louis Shakespeare Festival, RISE, The Delmar Divine Charitable Foundation, the St Louis Public School Foundation, Park Central Development Corporation, Provident Behavioral Health and Forest Park Forever.

    Leslie Burrows

    McCormack Baron Salazar

    As Vice President, Portfolio Management, Leslie Burrows is responsible for providing leadership and management of an assigned division which includes managing the day-to-day operations for a variety of affordable housing and fee-managed assets. Ms. Burrows has extensive knowledge of HUD, state and local housing programs and the compliance regulations of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program.

    Kaveh Razani

    Co-Director, St. Louis Art Place Initiative

    Kaveh Razani joined API in 2019 right after its founding as the first Director; he currently serves as Co-Director. For the last four years, Kaveh has overseen API’s operations and has been the project manager for home construction and sales. He has helped build many of API’s strategic partnerships, where his current work is focused. In addition to his work with API, Kaveh is the co-founder and operator of the community arts venue Blank Space on Cherokee Street and has played an active role in the management of the Cherokee Street Community Improvement District Board of Directors, where he currently serves as Vice-Chairperson. He has co-founded several businesses in South City, among which is a collectively-owned commercial real estate company focused on incubating neighborhood-based small businesses. Kaveh is a faculty co-lead of the Regional Arts Commission’s Community Arts Training Institute and is a graduate of its TIGER program.

    Travis Sheridan

    Wexford Science & Technology

    Travis serves as Wexford’s first Chief Community Officer and works hand-in-hand with Wexford’s university partners, civic leaders and community groups in the Knowledge Communities we develop. His primary role is to ensure that Wexford is building inclusive communities in each of our cities and to lead the overall community engagement strategy, identify new partners and initiatives to add to the knowledge community portfolio, develop funding mechanisms to increase opportunities for under-represented innovators, and strengthen the connections between the Knowledge Community and the geography in which it resides. Previously, Travis was President of the CIC Venture Café Global Institute (VCGI) where he was responsible for the growth and expansion of the organization. He was also the founding Executive Director of Venture Café St. Louis – the first expansion city outside of Cambridge located at the Wexford’s property, @4240. In his role, Travis propelled Venture Café St. Louis to be the largest weekly event gathering for innovators and entrepreneurs in the United States. Prior to launching Venture Café St. Louis, Travis was the Assistant Vice President of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership where he ran an annual business plan competition, launched a biotech incubator, and managed a network of four additional business incubators. Travis is a community designer who uses innovation and entrepreneurship to drive community and economic development. He co-founded 59DaysOfCode and GlobalHack, two competitions that create community and build talent. At its height, GlobalHack was the world’s largest hackathon and attracted participants from around the globe. A frequent speaker, Travis honed his skills while doing standup for more than three years and is often called upon to speak on the topics of innovation, community design, economic development and leadership.     James Roseberry

    Associate, Project Manager, Trivers Associates

    James has great strengths in historic renovation and adaptive reuse, as well as an expertise in technical spaces, although his 20 years’ experience involves many of the firm’s project types. As an Associate and Project Manager, he has served a key role on many impactful projects in the St. Louis area. As a member of Trivers’ Green Team, he manages the firm’s 2030 commitment and is drafting Trivers’ sustainable action plan. He has contributed to a number of Trivers’ sustainable projects, including the recently completed renovation of January Hall at Washington University, which is received LEED Gold certification. He was recently selected to join the Planning Group of the BuildingGreen Small Firm Sustainable Design Leaders Peer Network. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the US Green Building Council-Missouri Gateway Chapter.

    Paul Fiorilla

    Director of U.S. Research, Yardi Systems, Inc.

    Paul Fiorilla is Director of Research at Yardi Matrix, a leading commercial property data provider. Since joining Yardi in January 2015, he has overseen publishing of CRE market outlooks and white papers about numerous industry trends. He has more than a quarter century of experience as a high-profile researcher and analyst in commercial real estate and capital markets. Before joining Yardi, he worked for six years as an investment vice president in the research group of Prudential Real Estate Investors (now PGIM), and for 12 years covered CMBS and CRE capital markets for Commercial Mortgage Alert, the last nine as managing editor. Paul has been a contributing author to the annual Emerging Trends reports for several years. Additionally, he is an active member of industry trade groups including CRE Finance Council, Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), National Multifamily Housing Council, National Association for Business Economics and National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF). Paul has served as volunteer editor in chief for the CRE Finance Council’s magazine, CRE Finance World, since 2011, and regularly contributes to industry trade publications including PREA Quarterly, Emerging Trends in Real Estate (published by the Urban Land Institute and PWC), Institutional Investor, and Summit Journal (published by the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate).

    Jennifer Allen

    Co-Director, St. Louis Art Place Initiative

    Jennifer Allen joined API in 2023 as Co-Director, with a focus on Artist and Community Engagement, Program Administration, and Fundraising. Jennifer has 18 years of experience working as an Urban Planner in the affordable housing development, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and civic engagement fields. Jennifer’s expertise areas are Community Engagement and Planning, Facilitation, Management, and Organizational Development. Her previous roles have included, Leader Experience Sr. Director at ioby (in our backyards), a national non-profit crowdfunding platform for community projects; Director of Strategic Initiatives at Trailnet where she built strategic partnerships, led advocacy campaigns, and spearheaded the creation of The Calm Streets Project, which lead to the Louisiana Avenue Calm Streets Demonstration; and Policy Associate at Livable Places where she led 35 organizations to become the Alliance for a Livable Los Angeles, a coalition that worked to create more affordable housing, transportation options, parks, and public places. Jennifer has a Master of Arts in Urban planning from UCLA with an emphasis on housing policy and urban design.
